Rick Schellenberg is the Owner/Operator. Besides working with Karen in the office every day he works with Santiago and the boys in the field to get the chores done. Rick is also in charge of fruit marketing for the company. He loves to get out on the tractor when he has the opportunity to do so but as busy as things are he doesn’t get the opportunity as often as he’d like.

Michelle M. Schellenberg
Owner/operator
Michelle Schellenberg is also the Owner and is our CPA and Head Taxi Driver for the Schellenberg family. She works with Karen to confirm that every penny is accounted for as well as seeing to it that the Schellenberg family also operates smoothly.

Karen Sorensen
Office Manager
Karen Sorensen is our Office Manager. She is the pleasant voice on the other end of the phone when you call Schellenberg Farms. She takes care of most of the mountain of paperwork that even a small family farm is burdened with these days. She starts her day with accounts payables and receivables. She then spends a good part of her day working on government reporting and compliance reports. Karen also works with Rick in company fruit sales. She is great at making sure that Rick and Santiago are getting their work done and that nothing falls through the cracks.

Santiago Espinoza is our Field Manager. Santiago has been with Schellenberg Farms for more than 25 years. He’s in charge of the day-to-day farming activities. He makes sure that the field workers show up for work and organizes and monitors their daily tasks. He also ensures that the irrigation, fertilization and bug control get done in a timely manner. Timing is everything when it comes to producing high quality fruit. Santiago spends much of his day walking through the fields looking at the crops to see if they need anything. He knows every tree and vine we farm in a personal way.

Jerry Eitzen
Equipment Maintenance
Jerry Eitzen is the “old pro” around here. He has been farming for more than 40 years. With all of his experience he is quick to let us know when we “aren’t getting it right.” His furrows are as straight as an arrow and just the right depth. If ours are not “just right,” he takes it upon himself to do them over again to make sure that they are. He takes pride in his work and the fields really show it. He’s also really good at fixing things. Before began his farming career he was an airline mechanic for United Airlines. When a piece of equipment isn’t running just right he can usually hear a problem and fix it before it’s broken. That’s a great talent to have around especially when we have tractors that have been working in the field since Eisenhower was President . Unfortunately for us, Jerry is semi-retired. He’s not here every day anymore but we’re glad to get him when we can get him.

Martin Uribe is our irrigator and tractor driver. He makes sure that the vineyards and orchards have just enough but not too much water.
